Shane Filan announces new album “Love Always”

THE IRISH POP STAR ANNOUNCES HIS THIRD SOLO ALBUM FEATURING CLASSIC LOVE SONGS AND ALL NEW TRACKS

Following two successful solo albums and tours Shane Filan has announced today, Weds 28th June, that he is back with his third album, Love Always” featuring some all-time classic love ballads alongside new original songs. The 12 track album features some of Shane’s favourite ballads along with some fan suggestions, from all time classics like Make Me Feel My Love and Eternal Flame to new hits including Beautiful in White which has already amassed over 70 million views on You Tube. The album will be on sale on Friday 25th August with pre-orders available from Friday 30th June.

Shane says, “This is an album I have been wanting to make for a long time, I love singing ballads and this album is full of some of my all-time favourite songs as well as some fan choices such as the Bangles hit Eternal Flame which I had never thought about covering but loved recording, to one of my own personal favourites Bryan Adams’ Heaven. Picking the tracks was the most difficult part of the process and I wanted to put my own take on them and I’m really proud of the versions I have done. There are also three brand new original tracks that I’ve written following requests by fans for some new music and I am really proud of how they sit alongside the other songs”.

Shane has cemented his position as one of the UK & Ireland’s most popular male solo artists, following phenomenal success with Westlife - one of the world’s most successful bands of the last few decades – and he shows no signs of slowing down, “There’s nothing that make me happier than singing and being on stage” he says, “it’s something I am very proud of and it’s what I want to be doing for the rest of my life.”

The new album will also be accompanied by a UK and Irish tour also titled “Love Always”. “The great thing about thing about this new album and forthcoming tour is that the set list is going to be so strong with the addition of these songs to my set list, with some of my earlier singles and obviously the Westlife favourites. The fans will know every single word of every song, it’s nice to look forward to a tour knowing the crowd are really going to love it, it’s going to be a new chapter and everyone is going to be singing along to these songs”.

Westlife had fourteen chart topping singles and forty-four million sales. Their career, Shane says, “fulfilled all of our dreams 1000 times over.” It’s been a remarkable journey for a singer songwriter who grew up inspired by an admiration of Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson.

On your marks, get set, Drive! A brand new show from ITV

Vernon Kay to host new ITV show also starring Louis Walsh.

ITV has commissioned Drive, a brand new entertainment series which features the thrills and spills of motor racing and pitches eight well known celebrities against each other in an adrenaline charged race with a difference.

Drive is hosted by Vernon Kay with UK racing legend and double British Touring Car Champion, Jason Plato, on hand with his expert advice.

Celebrities taking to the tracks are: rapper Professor Green; singer Ella Eyre; TV personality Louis Walsh; actor and comedian Jonny Vegas; Olympic athlete Colin Jackson; TV presenter Mariella Frostrup; weather expert Laura Tobin and broadcaster Angus Deayton.

This high-octane driving competition will see the celebrities take to the driving seats of old bangers, buggies, 4x4s and rally cross cars among others.  As they get into pole position, we will see who has what it takes in a host of unexpected and action packed driving challenges.

The celebrities with the slowest time in each challenge will battle it out in a Night Race to see who will remain in the competition.  And those that remain by the Final will burn up the tracks in a F4 car in a bid to be crowned the Drive Champion.

Vernon said: “Everyone thinks they can drive - but can they? This show will test not only their skills behind the wheel but also how they control their fear. Drive is not just about straight line speed, all driving skills are going to be tested. But when it’s not your clutch you’re burning or your tyres you’re shredding, it’s full steam ahead!”

Jason said:  “I’m excited to see what these celebrities can do behind the steering wheel. There is a massive difference from driving a car on the road to taking something to the race track and it will be interesting to see who has what it takes to take their foot off the brake and test their limits.”

Asif Zubairy, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, ITV said: “We are excited to have Vernon and Jason on board for this brand new driving show with a mischievous twist. We have a great line up of celebrities and I can’t wait to see what they can do behind the wheel.”

Drive will test the celebrities to their limits but who will steer themselves to victory?

Drive is made by Twofour and was commissioned by ITV’s Director of Comedy and Entertainment Elaine Bedell and Asif Zubairy, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, ITV. It is executive produced by Dan Adamson, Melanie Leach, Andrew Mackenzie for Twofour and the Series Editor is Nic Patten for Twofour.
